About Rooted Paths CIC
Our Mission
Rooted Paths CIC was founded with a clear purpose: to remove barriers to English language learning for adults in the London Borough of Havering. We believe that language is the root of connection — to community, to services, and to a fulfilling life.
We provide free, high-quality ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes that are accessible to all adults, regardless of their background, education level, or prior experience of learning English.
"To support adults in building confidence, independence, and connection through accessible English language education."
Our Values
Everything we do is guided by these core principles.
Inclusion
We welcome all adults, regardless of background, nationality, or level of English. Our classes are designed to be accessible and non-judgmental.
Community
We build connections between learners and their local community, reducing isolation and fostering a sense of belonging in Havering.
Empowerment
We equip learners with practical English skills that give them greater independence — from attending appointments to supporting their children's education.
Accessibility
All classes are free of charge. We remove financial barriers so that cost is never a reason someone cannot improve their English.
Quality Teaching
Our classes are delivered by experienced ESOL teachers who understand the unique needs and challenges of adult learners.
Safeguarding
We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all learners. Our safeguarding policies ensure a safe, respectful learning environment for everyone.
